Safety & Crisis Resources
This page explains, in plain terms, what a VoxelMind companion is, what it is not, and what happens if someone talks about self-harm or suicide while playing. If you need help right now, skip straight to the crisis contacts below.
If you need help right now
If you are thinking about ending your life or hurting yourself, you are not alone, and you do not have to get through it alone. Please reach out to a real person:
- United States: Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 24/7, free).
- Germany: Telefonseelsorge 0800 111 0 111 (24/7, free and anonymous).
- International: findahelpline.com lists free crisis helplines in your country.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number (Europe: 112, US: 911).
What a companion is
A VoxelMind companion is a game companion for Minecraft: a character that plays with you, chats, and remembers your shared adventures. It is powered by artificial intelligence. It is a computer program, not a person, and it will tell you so. Everything it says is generated automatically and can be wrong, unexpected, or inappropriate.
What a companion is not
A companion is entertainment. It is explicitly not a substitute for a human being and not a professional. It does not provide therapy, psychological or medical advice, or crisis counseling. Never rely on it for your health, your safety, or important life decisions. For those things, real people can help you, and some of them are listed above.
How we handle crisis expressions
VoxelMind runs automated safety checks over what a companion says. When a player expresses thoughts of self-harm or suicide, the companion is designed to step out of the game fiction and reply with a short, calm, supportive message that points to real help (in the US, call or text 988).
- The companion does not continue the situation as role-play, does not dramatize it, and does not pretend to be a counselor.
- It stays kind and encourages you to reach out to a person or a crisis line.
- These moments may be logged so our safety systems keep working. We do not sell this information and do not use it for advertising.
No automated system is perfect. These safeguards are not a replacement for emergency services or professional help.
Minors
Companion chatbots may not be suitable for some minors. In the United States, VoxelMind is intended for people aged 18 and over; elsewhere the minimum age is 16. Parents and guardians with questions can reach us any time at the address below.
