Terms of Service for the VoxelMind game
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Note: the game VoxelMind is in development and nothing is for sale yet; no subscription can be bought at the moment. These terms apply once subscriptions are offered.
These terms apply to the game VoxelMind, your game account, the AI villagers that think on our servers and the Plus, Pro and Max subscriptions. You buy subscriptions from our reseller Paddle (section 6). Section 7 explains your right of withdrawal, section 8 contains the model withdrawal form and section 9 the refunds.
1. Provider and scope
The game and the service are provided by Nyvoro UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Johann-Georg-Fischer-Straße 18, 73079 Süßen, Germany, represented by Managing Director Robin Thonhofer, email info@voxel-mind.com ("we").
These terms apply to the game VoxelMind for Windows PCs, the game account and the AI villagers that think on our servers (together the "service"), in every plan (Free, Plus, Pro, Max). For buying a subscription, Paddle's buyer terms apply in addition (section 6).
They do not cover the Minecraft mod VoxelMind Local and the prepaid service VoxelMind Sparks (their terms are at voxel-mind.com/sparks/terms), nor the earlier hosted VoxelMind service, which ends on 8 November 2026.
2. The game and the AI villagers
VoxelMind is a voxel survival and god game. AI villagers live in your world and gather, build, talk and make decisions on their own. You watch them from above or live among them as one of them.
Early access: VoxelMind is in development. Content, features and balance change with updates, and there can be bugs. We try to keep saves working across updates, but in this phase we cannot promise it for every version.
Your worlds and saves are stored locally on your PC. Back up worlds you care about; we do not have a copy of them.
The minds of the AI villagers run on our servers. While a world with AI villagers is running, the game sends the state of the world around the villagers to our server; there AI models (Claude by Anthropic) work out their thoughts, words and actions, and that is where their memories are kept. AI villagers therefore need an internet connection and a signed-in account. If our server cannot be reached, the villagers wait. What happens to your data is explained in the privacy policy (voxel-mind.com/sparks/privacy).
3. Account and age
- You need an account to play. You sign in with your email address and a code that we send you by email.
- Age: VoxelMind is made for players aged 16 and up. You may create an account and play only if you are at least 16 years old.
- Purchases and subscriptions may only be made by adults (18 or older), or, if you are 16 or 17, only with the consent of your parents or legal guardians. If parents ask for a refund of a subscription they did not consent to, we refund it in full.
- An account belongs to one person. Do not share your sign-in, and keep access to your email address safe.
- You can have your account deleted at any time: write to info@voxel-mind.com from your account's email address. Together with the account we delete your villagers' memories on our servers, and we cancel a running subscription for you.
4. Thinking time and plans
Running AI villagers costs computing time. That is why every plan has an allowance of thinking time, measured in villager-hours: hours of world time multiplied by the number of AI villagers living and thinking during that time. One hour with 2 villagers uses 2 villager-hours, with 20 villagers it uses 20. Time only counts while your world is connected, not paused, and the villagers are thinking. Worlds without AI villagers use no thinking time.
- Free: free of charge and without a subscription, with a one-time allowance of thinking time per account.
- Plus, Pro and Max: subscriptions with an allowance per week (Pro 5 times, Max 20 times that of Plus). Each week starts on Monday at 0:00 UTC; thinking time not used expires at the end of the week and is not carried over.
- The size of the allowances, the number of villagers per world, the AI models available and the prices of each plan are shown in the checkout before you buy. What applies is what was shown when you bought.
Stronger models need more computing time. So that they do not blow an allowance, every plan limits the compute costs per period in addition to the villager-hours; whichever is reached first ends the allowance. Villagers on stronger models therefore use it up faster than villagers on the standard model. You can see your usage in the game.
When the allowance is used up, your world freezes: world time stops until the next week starts or you move up to a bigger plan. There are no extra costs and we never charge for overuse.
5. Subscription: term, renewal, cancellation
- A subscription runs for one month from the purchase and renews automatically for one further month at a time unless you cancel. Paddle charges the price at the start of each month.
- You can cancel at any time, without notice, with effect from the end of the current month: in Paddle's customer portal (link in Paddle's confirmation email, or via paddle.net) or by email to info@voxel-mind.com. You keep your plan until the end of the month; after that nothing more is charged.
- When the subscription ends, you continue on Free. Your worlds and your villagers' memories are kept. If you have already used up the one-time Free allowance, the villagers think again once you book a plan again.
- If you change plans, we show you the price and the date of the change before you confirm it.
- Price changes: if we change the price of a plan, the new price applies to your running subscription at the earliest from the first period that starts at least 30 days after we told you by email, and only if you agree. If you do not agree, your subscription continues at the previous price; we may then cancel it with 30 days' notice to the end of a period.
- We may cancel a subscription with 30 days' notice to the end of a period, and end Free with the same notice. The right of both sides to terminate for good cause is unaffected.
6. Buying through Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. For questions about the game itself, write to us at info@voxel-mind.com.
You conclude the purchase contract for a subscription with Paddle: with Paddle.com Market Limited, 30 Old Bailey, London EC4M 7AU, United Kingdom, for purchases from the USA with Paddle.com Inc. and from Canada with Paddle.com (Canada) Ltd. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase (paddle.com/legal/buyer-terms). We provide the service, that is the game, the account and the thinking time; these terms apply to it.
How it works: you choose a plan and complete the purchase in Paddle's checkout. There you enter your email address, your country and your payment details, can check and correct everything before you send it, and place a binding order with the button for ordering with an obligation to pay. Paddle confirms the purchase by email; the email also contains the link to manage your subscription.
Prices: the prices shown in the checkout apply. For consumers in the EU they are final prices including the VAT that Paddle charges and pays as the seller. The payment methods are those Paddle offers in the checkout.
Contract text and language: you can view, save and print these terms at any time at voxel-mind.com/game/terms. Paddle sends you the order details by email. The contract languages are German and English.
7. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer living in the EU, the EEA or the United Kingdom, you can withdraw from the purchase of a subscription within 14 days from the conclusion of the contract without giving any reason. As Paddle is the seller, the right of withdrawal exists towards Paddle; Paddle informs you about it in the checkout, and Paddle's buyer terms and refund policy apply in addition.
How to withdraw: with the withdrawal function in Paddle's customer portal (link in your confirmation email, or via paddle.net) or with a clear statement to us, by email to info@voxel-mind.com or by post to the address in section 1. You may use the model withdrawal form in section 8, but it is not mandatory. We pass a withdrawal that reaches us on to Paddle without delay. To meet the deadline, it is sufficient that you send your statement before the withdrawal period has expired.
Consequences: Paddle refunds all payments for the withdrawn subscription without undue delay and at the latest within 14 days from receipt of the withdrawal, using the means of payment you paid with; you are not charged any fees for the refund. The subscription ends with the withdrawal.
Early start: the subscription is a contract for a digital service. If you expressly request in the checkout that we start before the withdrawal period ends and you withdraw afterwards, the law would have you pay proportional compensation for the service provided up to the withdrawal (§ 357a (2) BGB); the right of withdrawal expires once the service has been fully provided (§ 356 (4) BGB). For the first purchase of a plan we waive this compensation: under our refund policy you get the full amount back within the first 14 days (section 9).
The automatic renewal of a subscription is not a new contract and, under the law, generally does not create a new right of withdrawal. For forgotten cancellations our refund policy applies.
8. Model withdrawal form
(If you want to withdraw from the contract, fill in this form and send it back. We pass your withdrawal on to Paddle. You can also use the withdrawal function in Paddle's customer portal.)
- To Nyvoro UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Johann-Georg-Fischer-Straße 18, 73079 Süßen, Germany, email info@voxel-mind.com (we pass the withdrawal on to the seller, Paddle.com Market Limited, 30 Old Bailey, London EC4M 7AU, United Kingdom):
- I/We (*) hereby withdraw from the contract concluded by me/us (*) for the provision of the following service (*): subscription for the game VoxelMind (plan: ______, Paddle order number: ______)
- Ordered on (*) / received on (*): ______
- Name of consumer(s): ______
- Address of consumer(s): ______
- Signature of consumer(s) (only if notified on paper): ______
- Date: ______
(*) Delete as appropriate.
9. Refunds
In addition to the right of withdrawal, our refund policy applies (voxel-mind.com/refund). In short: we refund the first purchase of a plan in full on request within 14 days of payment, without giving reasons. We refund a forgotten renewal in full if you ask within 14 days of the charge and have not yet used the thinking time of the new period. Paddle pays refunds out to your original means of payment.
Beyond that, we refund the rest of a running period only in the cases these terms name (sections 3 and 13) or that the law provides for.
10. AI-generated content
The villagers are controlled by artificial intelligence, currently by Claude models from Anthropic. Their conversations, thoughts, decisions and actions are generated by AI models; they are not written by people and do not reflect the views of Nyvoro UG. When you talk to a villager, you are talking to an AI system, not to a human.
AI-generated content can be inaccurate, contradictory, unexpected or inappropriate. Villagers make mistakes, forget, argue, destroy things and die; that is part of the game. Do not rely on what they say as advice on real-world matters. We do not promise any particular behaviour of the villagers.
If you come across content that is unlawful or offensive, please report it to info@voxel-mind.com.
11. Rights of use, recordings and streams
For the duration of the contract we grant you the simple, non-transferable right to use the game for your own purposes. The game, the software and the name and logo of VoxelMind belong to Nyvoro UG; rights that the law grants you mandatorily remain unaffected.
You may publish recordings, screenshots and streams of your worlds, including on channels with advertising revenue (for example YouTube or Twitch). What the villagers say and build in your world may be used for this too. We are happy about a mention of VoxelMind.
12. Fair use
- Do not get around allowances, limits or blocks, for example with several accounts to use Free more than once.
- Do not access our servers automatically outside the game, do not use the villagers' minds for anything other than the game and do not resell access.
- Do not try to make villagers produce unlawful content, and do not attack our servers.
- Decompile the software and the interfaces to our servers only as far as the law mandatorily allows.
In case of violations we may warn you, suspend the thinking time of your account or block the account. We warn you before blocking, except in serious cases.
13. Availability, updates and changes
We run our servers with reasonable care but cannot promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, faults on our side or at our service providers (such as Anthropic, Hetzner, Supabase or Paddle) and servers at capacity can mean that villagers do not think for a while.
During a subscription we provide the updates needed to keep the game and the service in conformity with the contract, in particular security and compatibility updates (§ 327f BGB). If you do not install such an update within a reasonable time although we told you about it and about the consequences, we are not liable for defects that result solely from this.
Because VoxelMind is in early access, we keep developing the game and the service and may change them beyond what is required if there is a valid reason, such as the further development of the game, new or retired AI models, changed costs of our service providers, or technical or legal reasons. Such changes cost you nothing extra, and we inform you about them clearly and understandably. If a change impairs your access or the usability more than insignificantly, we inform you by email in good time beforehand; you can then end the subscription free of charge within 30 days of the information or of the change, whichever is later, and get back the amount already paid for the remaining time on a pro rata basis.
We do not change the allowances and prices of existing subscriptions this way, only under section 5.
If we discontinue the game or the AI villagers permanently, we announce it at least 30 days in advance by email and no longer renew subscriptions. We refund amounts already paid for time after the discontinuation on a pro rata basis.
14. Warranty and liability
The statutory rights for defects apply to the game and the service (§§ 327 et seq. BGB). Please report defects to us first (info@voxel-mind.com); we arrange refunds through Paddle.
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act and where we have given a guarantee. For slightly negligent breach of an essential contractual obligation, our liability is limited to the typical, foreseeable damage; otherwise it is excluded. For the free scope (Free), our liability is otherwise limited to intent and gross negligence. Liability for loss of data, for example of worlds on your PC, is limited to the effort of restoring it from a backup that you would have made in line with the risk. Your statutory warranty rights remain unaffected.
15. Privacy
How we process your data, including for the account and the AI villagers, is explained in our privacy policy (voxel-mind.com/sparks/privacy).
16. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms for the future if there is a valid reason, such as new features, a change in the law or a change of our service providers. For an existing account or subscription, changed terms only apply once you agree to them; we send them to you by email beforehand. If you do not agree, the previous terms continue to apply, and we may end the subscription or the account with 30 days' notice under section 5.
17. Governing law and dispute resolution
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country where you habitually reside. The purchase contract with Paddle is governed by the law that Paddle's buyer terms determine.
We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
18. Contact
Questions about the game, your account and these terms: info@voxel-mind.com. Questions about payment and invoices are answered by Paddle (paddle.net); you can also write to us.
19. Not an official Minecraft product
VoxelMind is a game of its own and NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT. NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG OR MICROSOFT. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Studios.
In case of discrepancies between the German and English versions, the German version prevails. The contract languages are German and English.
